Overview

RoseFolio ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we store it, and your rights regarding your data when you use the RoseFolio mobile application ("the App") and our website at rosefolioapp.com.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign in using Sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple user identifier and, depending on your settings, your name and email address. If you choose to hide your email, Apple provides a private relay address. We use this information solely to create and manage your account.

Camera and Photo Library

The App requests access to your device's camera and photo library so you can take or select photos of roses for AI identification, garden tracking, and community posts. Photos are only accessed when you explicitly choose to take or select a photo within the App. We do not access your camera or photo library in the background.

Photos and User Content

When you upload a rose photo, create a post, or use the AI identification feature, that content is transmitted to our servers to provide the requested functionality. Community posts (photos, display names) are visible to other users within the App.

Garden and Wishlist Data

Data you enter about your garden (rose names, bloom entries, notes) and wishlist is stored locally on your device using on-device storage. This data is not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly choose to share it.

Purchase Information

If you subscribe to RoseFolio Pro, your purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment information, credit card details, or billing address. We receive only a confirmation of your subscription status from RevenueCat, our subscription management provider.

Reports and Moderation

When you report a post or user, we collect the report reason you select, the reported content identifier, and your user identifier so we can review the report and take appropriate action. Reports are reviewed by our team and are kept confidential — the reported user is not informed who submitted the report. You may also block users directly within the App, which is stored with your account to filter content on your behalf.

Usage Data

We collect limited usage data (such as feature interactions and activity) to improve performance and user experience. This data is not used to personally identify you.

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and operate the App, including account creation, posting, voting, and community features
  • To process rose photos through AI identification and return results to you
  • To display your community posts to other users within the App
  • To manage your subscription status and provide access to premium features
  • To improve, maintain, and troubleshoot the App
  • To enforce our Terms of Use and community guidelines
  • To review user reports, moderate content, and take action against posts or accounts that violate our community guidelines

Third-Party Services

RoseFolio uses the following third-party services to operate:

  • Supabase — Cloud database and authentication for storing account data, community posts, and uploaded images
  • OpenAI — AI service used to analyze rose photos and provide identification results when you use the AI identification feature
  • RevenueCat — Subscription management to verify and manage your RoseFolio Pro subscription status
  • Cloudinary — Image hosting and delivery for community post photos
  • Apple (Sign in with Apple) — Authentication provider for secure account sign-in
  • Sentry — Crash reporting to help us identify and fix app issues quickly
  • TelemetryDeck — Privacy-friendly, anonymous usage analytics (no personal data is collected)

These services process data only as necessary to provide their respective functionality. Each service is governed by its own privacy policy.

Data Storage and Security

  • Account data and community content are stored securely on Supabase cloud servers
  • Garden and wishlist data is stored locally on your device
  • Photos submitted for AI identification are processed in real-time and are not permanently stored by the AI service after processing
  • We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and secure authentication to protect your data

Data Retention

We retain your account data and community content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data and community posts within 30 days. Anonymous, aggregated usage data may be retained indefinitely as it cannot be linked to you. Locally stored data (garden, wishlist) is removed when you delete the App from your device.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We share data only with the third-party services listed above, solely to operate the App. Content you voluntarily post to community features (such as photos and display names) is visible to other users within the App.

Children's Privacy

RoseFolio is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the email below.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal data
  • Request deletion of your account and all associated personal data
  • Request removal of specific content you have posted
  • Withdraw consent for data processing at any time by deleting your account

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
